Yep it’s that time of year again when we invite local students in for work experience.
We don’t tend to take in as many as we’d like as we are only a small design team now and one student at a time works better for us. This week it is Amy’s turn! Amy is helping us make a few of our age cards.
Throughout her week with us Amy will have the chance to make her own cards and also some items of jewellery to take home with her. We make all our students feel welcome and part of the team and we hope that at the end of their we they leave with some valuable design skills.

Another week is drawing to a close and I can’t believe how fast the weeks seem to be passing us by.
I asked my son what the date was this morning and he said, ‘don’t you know’? ‘it’s my birthday in only 4 days, can’t you work it out’?. I saw no point in reminding him of all I had to do! Bless him, next week will be busy with his birthday, a party and a night at the ballet for me amongst other things.
Lot’s to do today, mostly concerning card designs, we will spend some time today discussing our Christmas for this year while we think about Christmas for 2013. A bit of an odd way round to do it I know. Christmas for 2012 should have been signed and sealed by now so we are running behind schedule on this, but it shouldn’t take us long.
Our Valentines designs for 2013 are looking rather gorgeous, very handmade and I hope to upload a few imags of them in the coming weeks once we have everything signed off here.
More jewellery to work on today aswell and thinking about ‘Progressive Greetings Live’ www.progressivegreetingslive.co.uk , the card exhibition in London on 29th-30th May. Lello will be exhibiting under the Carte Blanche Greetings banner. All our lovely new cards will be on display.
Hears a sneaky peak from one of our Valentines cards for 2013, hope it shows up clearly!

What a horrible day! Rain rain go away….
Never under estimate the usefulness of a full length rain coat with hood, that’s what I’d like to say about today! As I stood at the school bus stop alone this morning in the rain!
My wise words for my blog today are based on the ‘weather’, that’s definately not a subject I’ve covered before. The last one is my favourite and very true!
What are we up today? working on card designs which we seem to be doing around the clock now, it’s nice to getting back to our roots and producing more card designs and discussing jewellery.

It’s Tuesday again, I like to take a picture of one of us on a Tuesday wearing an item of Lello jewellery for our blog readers to see.
Today I am wearing our ‘Sixpence’ bracelet. Made from a very chunky grey metal chain with large coin detail.
It also comes in a matching short necklace. Quite a statement piece!!
Making the final changes to our Valentines 2013 designs today, to make sure they are ‘just right’ we are nearly there!
Back tomorrow with some wise words for Wednesday.

The start of a brand new week, I have been out of the office for a few hours this morning and come into a sea of emails, I am ticking them off one by one.
Fiona and I are also finalising our Valentines card designs for 2013 and turning our attentions to Mother’s Day.
Meanwhile we have heard we will be exhibiting at The Progressive Greetings Live Show at the Islington Design Centre on 29th and 30th May, exhibiting our greetings cards!!

Back tomorrow with ‘what are we wearing at Lello today’.
Our lovely new handmade card ranges, Token, Squash and Hawaii are all being out being sold to our customers at the moment ahead of their stock arriving in the next 4-6 weeks.
Thanks to all the sales people at Carte Blanche Greetings who are spreading the Lello word. Below are a few images from a couple of the ranges. They are beautiful and we have had a fantastic response to them!
Working hard on new ranges due to launch later in the year.
For details of our new cards or to see a rep please call Carte Blanche Greetings, Customer Service on: 01243 792600.
Where does the time go? Thursday already and we continue to make our way through discussing new card ranges and forthcoming projects. We have worker bee’s making cards.
Back tomorrow.
mmmm what to write about today? I have encountered a slightly challenging morning so I guess today’s quotes should be based upon ‘resilliance’.

The passion to get ahead is sometimes born of the fear lest we be left behind. ~Eric Hoffer, The Passionate State of Mind, 1954
Too many to choose from. My morning nearly made me go out and buy a huge piece of cake! but I resisted, calmed myself down and tucked into a chicken sandwich which I am sure is far better for me. On with the afternoon and lots to do here at Lello with our jewellery and all the new card ranges we are about to start. Mother’s Day 2013 first on the list!!
After coming into the office to find all our power off, I sat down and wondered how long it would be off and I’d be twiddling my thumbs or having a massive tidy!!
Thankfully it only lasted 15 minutes and we were back on again. It does seem to be rather a regular occurance for us at Lello, it must happen at least once a month. Thankfully we were not alone, it appears many of our neighbours were caught out aswell.
When all your work is computer based, I appreciate we make cards and jewellery.
Today I am wearing ‘Jumble’ £9.99. A glass, metal bead & button cord strung bracelet. Comes with matching long necklace, Curiosity.

Has it been a Friday 13th for you? or just a normal Friday? I’d say on the whole mine has been as usual with, one or two things not going to plan, but that’s life!
It’s been a day of jewellery ‘talk’ today emailing lots of people who I think must still be on holiday and greeting card design planning, a few loose ends not completed which I will have to ‘tie up’ on Monday.
Hopefully by Monday everyone will be back from their hols and it will be business as usual.
Have a lovely weekend.
