What a beautiful week we have had and long may it last over the weekend.
We are spending our afternoon at Lello double checking jewellery samples & finishes, visiting our printer and getting on with orders & enquiries.

Try 2 days!
My apologies for not updating the blog, after having had Tuesday off I wasn’t quite up to speed yesterday.
Here are Wednesday’s wise words based on Simplicity. We are all a bit guilty of making our lives far too complicated at times.
I am planning my daughters birthday for Sunday and my aim is to keep everything very ‘simple’. I will have 8, 4-5 year olds making bracelets. Just 1 bracelet each and it is organised to the letter with help at hand! The rest of their time will be spent having fun in the garden, bouncing on the bouncy castle and eating cake, hurray for the sun!
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage – to move in the opposite direction. ~E.F. Schumacher (Thanks, Arly)
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. ~Confucius
Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful. ~William Morris
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. ~Leonardo DaVinci
Beware the barrenness of a busy life. ~Socrates
Lastly owing from Tuesday, our ‘what are we wearing at Lello today’. Today I am wearing our glass bead cluster ’Muffin’ bracelet which will re-launch for Autumn Winter, it will also come in a pretty beige finish, ‘Harvest’ and currently available in soft pink, ‘Carnation’, £10.00.
Meanwhile we are having a laugh trying to construct some boxes we have a large order to send out in. Instruction manual on it’s way, I have been told.
Oh what a lovely morning, just as I’d put my summer things away I have had to claw some of them back out now that the sun is shining again.
I will be out of action tomorrow after a visit to the dentist so there we be no, ‘what are we wearing at Lello’, this will move to Wednesday. ’Lots of trims arriving today for a very large card order for Christmas, samples to approve and a day of general planning and organising here at Lello.
That is what we are discussing in the office this morning. We have been visited by our paper merchant and the topic of conversation is print and finding out about more, new local print companies.
Although like many companies in the Gift industry we are inundated by Printers round the country, it’s very important to us at Lello that we work with local buisness’s as much as we can. It makes life so much easier.
Once our visit comes to an end, we will be working on jewellery all morning and expecting one of our sales agents for Lello to drop in and see us to collect some samples.
More news tomorrow.
It’s Wednesday again and time for some more quotes and wise words of the day. Today and for no particluar reason I have chosen the subject of forgiveness, not something everyone is capable of and in some extreme instances perhaps quite rightly so. I think the last quote is my favourite.
Forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it. ~Mark Twain
Once a woman has forgiven her man, she must not reheat his sins for breakfast. ~Marlene Dietrich
The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. ~Mahatma Gandhi
Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future. ~Paul Boese
He who cannot forgive breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass. ~George Herbert
There’s no point in burying a hatchet if you’re going to put up a marker on the site. ~Sydney Harris
What are we up to at Lello today? designing cards, organising jewellery, checking samples, checking print, working on costs, making up orders and sets of samples for our agents and……….. new ideas.
My blog update is a bit late today, it is 2.10pm already and I haven’t got round to taking my scarf off yet. Although a lovely bright morning, the chill required an Autumnal scarf.
Today has been ‘email central’ for me and it is about time I got up out of my seat, lunch has been and gone today and totally passed me by.
Meanwhile Fiona is praising herself on some lovely new card designs across the office and our work load is picking up by the day. This of cause is great new news.
It has been a mixed morning of good news and ‘indifferent’ news which just means, ‘plan A and B have not worked so come up with a C and D’.
The best news to day is that we are having some heating fitted in our warehouse…. just in time!!!!
Log on tomorrow, for ‘what are we wearing at Lello today’.
I have Fiona on the phone in one ear and my other colleague Barbara in the other ear going though a tutorial online (but speaking to herself) to get to bottom of why our barcode machine is not printing correctly.
Meanwhile we have some lovely new card design mock ups printing out as we speak and I am emailing, emailing and emailing this mornng, mainly chasing up suppliers .
You will note our home page has been updated as a temporary measure, soon to be replaced with some lovely new photography of our new jewellery designs.
Lots to get on with before the weekend is upon us!
Lastly as we embark on our next photoshoot, I have gone back in time to the very first one we did back in 2006, our jewellery has changed somewhat over the years!
I feel like I have covered several days in just 1 day, this morning. My little note book is filling up fast and it’s all good news for Lello. Exciting times ahead.
What are we up to today? Fiona is sat at her Mac designing Mother’s Day cards, these are actually a little late for us for 2012 but they are almost done and we will swiftly move onto Easter and Father’s Day so we are up to speed and ready to start on Christmas for 2012.
The new spring season jewellery is coming on very nicely. We have quite a tight formula we work to now when designing new jewellery, almost a shopping list but in a creative way. This keeps us on track.
No sooner will the Autumn Winter brochure be out with customers the Spring Summer one will be in the early design stages of design.
I thought I’d show you the lovely necklace I have on today, from our new Autumn Winter range. Called ‘Keys’ it is a long grey metal chain necklace with 3 hanging keys and a little padlock. I love it. My son was so impressed when I put it on this morning as he noticed that the word ‘Lello’ is on the large key in place of the teeth. My daughter asked if it would open the front door, bless her.
Comes with matching bracelet, short necklace and earrings.
Dont forget:Lello Jewellery SALE tonight at the Swan Pub in Kibworth Leicester from 6-9pm, lots of bargains and end of lines!

I do look at this blank space of our blog each Wednesday and think ‘what on earth will I quote today’?, I do give it some real thought. Random thought!
Having pondered a few subjects this morning I have settled for ‘excuses’. Sometimes a good excuse can get us through a sticky situation but some people use them far too often for my liking! I like the last one by Bill Clinton the most.
Excuses are the nails used to build a house of failure. ~Don Wilder and Bill Rechin
Several excuses are always less convincing than one. ~Aldous Huxley, Point Counter Point
How strange to use “You only live once” as an excuse to throw it away. ~Bill Copeland
Don’t do what you’ll have to find an excuse for. ~Proverb
We have more ability than will power, and it is often an excuse to ourselves that we imagine that things are impossible. ~François de la Rochefoucauld
Pessimism is an excuse for not trying and a guarantee to a personal failure. ~Bill Clinton
What are we up to today? more of the same. Costing cards, designing jewellery, trying to fix our barcode machine which really doesn’t seem to want to play ball!
