Hello, it’s quite cold here in the office at Lello today so there’s not much moving about going on apart from the poor girls packing the orders! I will be out there later to help them, but wrapped up warm! Quiet because for once we have no radio or music on, which makes a nice change!
Melanie one of our designers is wearing an unusual colour combination today, black & lilac with a hint of green so I thought I’d take a snap of her wearing some of our coordinating jewellery.
Pictured below Melanie is wearing our Miracle Bead necklace in Lilac £13.00 and matching Miracle bead bracelet, £6.00 with silver effect embossed heart and trade mark Lello tag. Melanie is also wearing our black and white Russian doll bracelet £7.00 made from wooden beads and hand painted wooden doll.
We had a lot of comments about this Russian doll set at The Clothes Show we have just exhibited at as it is so different. It is a real favourite of mine because I can wear it with almost anything and people always notice it when I wear it!
We got away from the NEC Clothes show last night at 8.40pm and I finally got home in my van at 10pm! so to say I am tired today is an understatement.
We met lots of lovely people at the show and did our utmost to spread the ‘Lello word’.
We felt the attendance was down on last year, perhaps due to the recession and also that customers were very reluctant to part with their hard earned cash. But like last year it was a worth while show and I would hope that we will be in attendance again next year.
The van is now unloaded and we are updating the website with lines which sold through at the Clothes show. The most popular items at the show were our Roma Bracelet, the Keepsake Necklace in metal antique finish, our large heart Alice necklace (shown in the pic below), Little Lello and Vintage Rose (show below, the very pretty pink beaded bracelet with embedded flowers) to name a few.
We have hopefully directed a lot of new visitors to our website and look forward to keeping them in touch with our plans for 2010.
I must say I picked up some fab bargains! The Clothes show is definitely the place to go for lovely and very affordable part dresses, make-up and jewellery.

I captured a few visitors on my little ‘flip video’ recorder at The Clothes show at the weekend. One lady, aptly named Karen arrived with one of our Lello necklaces on (Military £15.00) so I felt I just had to film her. As the days have gone by we have had many ladies coming to the stand wearing our jewellery which has been lovely to see. All returning customers have been given a free Lello keyring!
…….It’s nice not Not be at The Clothes Show today! The weekend was extremely busy but all the stands have commented that customers are reluctant to part with their money this year.
We had a major panic on Saturday morning when the lead snapped in the credit card machine and my husband drove up to the NEC with a spare one, just in time for the rush.
We have met lots of lovely ladies over the past few days and I will upload some film of a few of them tomorrow. Our Little Lello has gone down a storm with teenagers! and it was a great oppotunity for us to study all the current trends and find what our customers liked and didn’t like. I am hoping we have introduced a lot more women to Lello.
Today is all about getting on top of orders, especially from Amazon as this is meant to be the biggest week for shopping on the internet. I am also catching up with all the new Spring Season samples which have arrived in the office over the weekend, so lots to do……..
I have been over to the NEC in Birmingham this morning to set up our stand at The Clothes Show which starts tomorrow. It’s usually quite stressful getting there and unloading but I had the help of my husband today which meant we had it all done in just over and hour!
I took a short film of our little stand, as you can see many of the stands around us were still waiting to be set up and we are positioned just by the cat walk like we were last year. Tomorrow will probably be a shock to the system if it is anything like last year, we were ten deep in customers last December and didn’t manage to make it to the ‘ladies room’ till 4pm that day. It was literally ‘non stop’! I will be taking pictures and film while I am there which I will upload next week. Karen

I am wearing red and black so for this picture I’ve put on our long red and black bead necklace ‘Saturn’ only £12.99, made from heavy duty plastic beads, to match I am also wearing the ‘Mars’ bracelet only £4.99 in red and black beads and my classic black pearl earrings, £5.00, which go with just about anything. (You can just see as well my Little Lello ‘Crocus’ pearl necklace I am wearing under my scarf today, although part of our children’s range I love it and it’s a lovely everyday necklace, only £5.99).
