It is a chilly morning here at Lello. I am sat with my gillet on and big scarf wrapped a few times round my neck, it takes a few days for our building to warm up so Mondays are always a challenge.
We have recently started selling on Amazon which is a whole new ball game for us but the first indications are that it seems to be working. It wasn’t something I’d thought of until I realised that I bought quite a lot through them and thought there must be more people like me out there. The prices are the same as on our website but it does open up new possibilities for people finding out about our jewellery.
This week sees the start of The Clothes Show at the NEC in Birmingham, (it begins on Friday) so later today we will start preparing for it. There is a lot to organise, stock, tables, samples and so forth not mention the organisation of children and husbands!
We are in the Style Show part of the Clothes Show in hall 19, so please come and see us if you are attending. Karen
Here is a photo of my sister Fiona (also my business partner at Lello) along with two of her ‘gym buddies’ Bev and Gwen.
The three of them all dressed in fancy dress for their pump class last Saturday morning along with the rest of the class to raise money for Children In Need. They raised approx £200 between the 3 of them. Well Done! Bev, Fiona & Gwen (Santa’s little helper, Jane Fonder’s assistant and Little Miss Pirate).
What a lovely quiet morning it is here in Lello-land. Everyone is busy at work while my colleague Karen (there are two of us) tries to figure out what’s wrong with our emails as my usual 40-100 I receive each morning was only 3 today…. so there must be something wrong.
We are planning out our stand at The Clothes Show Live (NEC 4th-9th Dec) today making sure we have the back boards designed and have the stand covered for each of the 6 days it is on. It’s quite an undertaking. We are part of the style show within the Clothes Show quite near the Catwalk, stand LX44 in hall 19.
If last year is anything to go by we will be rushed off our feet. So if you are attending please come and see us. We will be there with our camera snapping picture of our customers to upload onto our blog!!
Meanwhile today we are also working on a few ‘Halloween’ jewellery concepts for 2010 which look lovely, I know my little girl is definitely going to want to wear a bracelet with a Spider on it!
Fiona and Melanie sifting through the spec’s for the new Spring Summer/Aut-Wint designs.
I thought I’d share this joke with you which was emailed to me yesterday by a dear neighbour and friend. I am a bit stuck for what to write on the blog today as we are up to our necks in orders, which is great but leaves little time for anything else, so I thought a joke would be a good idea.
*** Once upon a time a guy asked a girl “Will you marry me?” . The girl said “No” and she lived happily ever after. She went shopping, drank vodka with friends, always had a clean house, never had to cook, had a wardrobe full of shoes and bags, stayed skinny and was never farted upon. The End.
If you have any jokes you think would go down well with our Lello customers please email them to me at info@lellodesign.co.uk and I’ll post it on the blog. Keep them clean! thanks Karen
If any of our customers have got photos of themselves wearing our jewellery please email them to me at the same address and I will upload them onto our blog and give you a mention.
Hi, it’s Tuesday and it’s ‘what are we wearing at Lello today’.
Once again I have picked on my sister Fiona, this time sat at her desk. Fiona is all in pale pink today and as you can see is wearing one of our all time favourites, Vintage Rose, a pale pink glass bead bracelet with pretty flowers inside the beads, glass heart and Lello tag attachment. With matching pale pink glass pearl sterling silver earrings.
Bracelet £7.00, Earrings £5.00!
Thankfully we have been unaffected here at Lello by all the flooding but my heart goes out to those people round the country who have suffered and will suffer damage this week.
We are all too aware of how it can affect a business as our last premises were hit by flooding several times and it was simply awful. A factory of stock, offices full of computers and a children’s playroom all damaged at least 3 times. The mess the smell, the upset was horrible.
Needless to say the building we occupy now is in a much safer position but every time there is heavy rainfall I sit at home wondering if it will affect us again.
We have a had a visit by another of our Lello traders this morning, Victoria and her gorgeous little girl, who was passed around the office so we could all have a cuddle!. Our Lello ladies/traders are booked out with parties in the lead up to Christmas and earning some well earned extra cash for themselves.
If you’d like to know more about becoming a trader please email me at info@lellodesign.co.uk
Meanwhile it is a busy Friday morning, completing artwork for several adverts we are doing in publications for the new year and lots of orders to dispatch.
Mulled Wine & shopping – Local Event to Leicestershire
I attended Inside Out’s mulled wine event last night in Keyham, Leicestershire. The girls are also open all day today and this evening so please go along. Their new ranges of clothes are beautiful and I picked up some lovely Christmas decorations.
Clothes Show NEC
Don’t forget we have a stand at the forthcoming Clothes Show at the NEC from Dec 4th to 9th.
We have taken delivery of lots of new stock this morning, so my next task will be to update our website of the lines which currently read ‘out of stock’.
Also Kerry one of Lello Ladies has popped in this morning and although a bit shy I have taken a short video of her sat with Fiona to show you the Lello jewellery they are both wearing today.
Excuse my mistake I was put on the spot when Kerry rolled up her sleeve. She is wearing our Trove bracelet and not Trinket as I originally said. Even I get mixed up sometimes!
If you would like to become a Lello Lady selling our jewellery at parties like Kerry does, please email at info@lellodesign.co.uk
We have the first of several shipments of jewellery arriving tomorrow to top up our stock levels just in time for Christmas. Much of our ‘antique’ metal finish jewellery arrives tomorrow, followed in a few days by our Little Lello and the bulk of our other lines.
So please, if you want to order something which is out of stock please log on again in a few days and it should be showing that it is ‘in stock’!.
Also, we invite you to take advantage of our offer of some Free Sparkle. If you are happy to introduce us to 3 of your friends we will send you a FREEEva bracelet, perfect for your Christmas parties!
NEWS
Now we are getting the hang of our new camera which will enable us to upload short films onto our blog we thought we would start sharing more about Lello, with our customers! In the next few weeks we will show you how we decorate our Tree here in the office, so it might be fun to watch. More info next week.
Fiona, Guinea Pig, of the day!
First of all I’d like to say that it took us about 25 goes to even get this far, it was so funny. We are not intending for this to be taken too seriously but thought it would give our customers the chance to see the jewellery as it is worn by us all here at Lello, everyday of the week.
Next Tuesday we will try to be a little more relaxed with it and make it a bit more light hearted!
Each Tuesday from now on we will film one of us here at Lello and the jewellery we are wearing. We may even become a little more adventurous as time goes on.
If anyone viewing this has any requests, jewellery from our website which they would like to see us wearing, just drop me an email to info@lellodesign.co.uk or please make a comment under this blog and we will do our best to organise it for you.
There always seems to be so much to do on a Monday. We have gone through all our internet, ebay and Amazon sales, welcomed Laura back after being off sick and caught up with everyone after the weekend. I am in a hurry to get them all organised, before I dash off to an Integra meeting today at the Hilton Hotel in Leicester.
Integra is a Women In Business Chamber of Commerce group who meet regularly. I have some Lello give-aways to hand out to all the women and will get the chance to say a few words about Lello.
I hope to take a few pictures while I am there which I will upload towards the end of today. Karen
Remember to Log on tomorrow for a new ‘what are we wearing at Lello today’!
